The Story Behind JELLPerformance 

Founded in 2025 by Stephen Davies, JELLPerformance was built from a lifelong passion for engines, mechanics, and the constant drive to make things better.
The name “JELL” comes from Stephen’s nickname, Jelly — and perfectly sums up his hands-on, energetic approach to anything with an engine.

From a young age, Stephen was the kind of lad who couldn’t resist taking things apart just to see how they worked — even if they didn’t always go back together. His curiosity quickly turned into a passion as he began building and modifying BMXs and mountain bikes, then later moving on to motorbikes and cars.

At 17, after buying his first car, that passion really took off. What started as a hobby became a career path, driven by a deep interest in performance, mechanics, and constant improvement. Stephen began an apprenticeship with Kwik Fit, completing a three-year program in under 24 months. Always wanting to learn more, he then joined a friend’s family-run garage, attending college on day release to gain his Level 2 NVQ in Motor Vehicle Studies.

Over the next decade, Stephen worked on a huge variety of vehicles — building, modifying, and improving everything he could get his hands on. From engine swaps to suspension upgrades and track day builds, he gained experience across the board. In his spare time, he could often be found at the track or out on a recovery job, doing what he loved most: working with machines.

After 10 years in the automotive trade, Stephen made a move into the marine and powersports world, joining a Yamaha main dealership to manage their workshop. Having already owned various powersports and recreational toys for fun, this role allowed him to combine passion with profession. Over the following decade, he refined his skills in powewrsports & powered products doing performance, maintenance, and reliability, becoming known for his attention to detail and high standards of work.

His expertise eventually led him to work alongside an ex-touring car driver and race team owner, now an international jet ski racer. Stephen became an integral part of the team — maintaining, tuning, and improving their craft to championship-winning standards. Together, they’ve celebrated multiple race wins and titles on the international stage.

After years of building experience, knowledge, and connections — and with an ever-growing drive to do more — Stephen decided it was time to go solo.
That’s when JELLPerformance  was born.

Today, JELLPerformance offers professional service, repair, maintenance,  performance upgrades & parts for anything with an engine — from lawnmowers to trucks — with a particular passion for powersports and jet skis.
Stephen continues to learn, evolve, and deliver the same dedication, quality, and enthusiasm that have fueled his journey from day one.
